I had a nice session painting with fellow street artist Yatzy on an old dilapidated automobil repair shop. I have done some pieces here on earlier occasions. I love the derelict character of the buildings. Probably due to some cultural heritage dispute the place has escaped the wrecking-ball. Every town with claim to being an urban center should have such buildings in abundance. With Norway’s oil fuelled economy we are running out of them. The property market is rewarding for the ones with investment capital, but without business savvy or boldness. Heavy increase in property values makes everybody give way to the sterile, ungenerous, run-of –the-mill gentrification. How come the poorer cities are the more interesting to live in?
