It seems like I always come back to this, but I can’t help it, I love the simple, monochrome, cartoonish stencils. And I love it when they are in play with the surroundings – whether they hang, stand, walk or sit – this way they interact with the wall in ways that makes the wall more than a mere substitute for a canvas. Whereas portraits are left suspended in mid-air, figures can be grounded, obeying the laws of gravity. Both can of cause interact with the surroundings in ways of altering the perception of the place, but adhering to the law of gravity somehow gives the paintings a life of their own,
