Here’s a few pics from the solo exhibition in Bergen “Rivjern/Grater”. The central theme/leitmotive for the show was gender roles. These paintings playing on the icon – idol – ideology chain of interpretation. And as the orthodox icons they’re painted om wood panels.
It’s been a while since my last post here. Time to move out some of the backlog. Starting with the most resent. A few pics from my solo exhibition i Switzerland at Stadtgallerie Chur. The exhibition was curated by Andreas Hoffmann and I owe him and not least Flavia Devon’s Hoffmann a great thanks for their support and a super nice and well organised event. And though the images were sketched out in advance, all the plates were painted in the gallery. Wall paint by sponge on MDF. A truly nice and sensual experience, throwing a great deal of energy into the paintings.
I applied a range of colours that would not stand out too much – trying to match the energy of the subject. I think the image got an air of a semi washed away piece, merging into the wall. Maybe it’s due to the rough texture of the wall. For reference the image is life-size +.
